ABOUT GAVIN and O'GRADY CYCLEWORKS:
Gavin is a veteran bicycle mechanic, fit technician, racing cyclist and aficionado. Since his early self-taught wrenching days on his BMX bike in the mid-1970’s, Gavin has developed into a master in the art of bicycle maintenance, repair, fitting and design. Beginning his professional career wrenching at the hub of NJ Cycling, Marty’s Reliable Cycle, he has worked at many well-known shops across the country including: Adams Avenue Bicycles & Mountain Bike Warehouse in San Diego, Cronometro in Madison, WI and most recently at Classic Cycle on Bainbridge Island, WA.
He is a certified Shimano S-Tec mechanic and well versed in Campagnolo, SRAM and most other bicycle components. Gavin holds Fitting certificates from Specialized and TREK fitting schools and has been fitting professionally since 2007. In addition, he is experienced in custom bicycle design, geometry and ride-feel to help you put together your ultimate custom bike or just get the most out of your current rig.
Gavin is also a former professional racer whose career spanned 1984-1991. He was a member of several notable teams: US National Team, Team Crest, Poland Springs/Tomassini, Cannondale Racing Team and Beacon/Cyclops. His palmiers include: 1988 Olympic Team Alternate (Men’s Road Race). Overall titles at 1988 Tour of the Gila, 1989 Chico Stage Race and 1990 Madera Stage Race. Gavin has 50+ career victories to his credit including individual & stage wins at the 1988 Coors Classic, 1988 Olympic Trials, 1987 Tour of Martinique, 2 times NJ State TimeTrial Champion, 1986 NORBA NJ State Mountain Bike XC Champion and numerous other podiums and top placings. His racing experience spans the disciplines of Road, Mountain, Cyclocross, Track, Gravel and BMX.
